Globe Telecom brought its iPhone 18 launch activities to Manila, Cebu and Davao through simultaneous midnight events for Globe Platinum subscribers, combining early device access with private dining experiences hosted by members of the company’s premium customer community.
Held on the eve of the smartphone’s nationwide release, the events offered an alternative to conventional retail launches, allowing invited customers to collect their devices and participate in unboxing sessions in smaller venues.
In Manila, the gathering took place at TAGLISH Seafood Steakhouse in Makati, owned by Globe Platinum subscriber and chef Frances Tariga. Cebu’s event was held at The Pig & Palm, the restaurant of chef Jason Atherton, while Davao guests gathered at Mori & Mill, led by business leader and culinary entrepreneur Anthony Ang. All three hosts are Globe Platinum subscribers, according to the company.
The events followed Globe’s “Platinum for Platinum” concept, which brought together premium subscribers and fellow members whose businesses and expertise shaped the local dining experiences.
Guests were among the first to receive the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, with access supported by Globe’s iPhone Forever program, which allows eligible customers to upgrade to the latest flagship iPhone annually.
Mark Pasaylo, head of Globe Platinum Business, said the company designed the events around customers’ expectations for early access and personalized service.
“Instead of simply giving them a device, we created an experience that reflects their lifestyle, intimate, seamless, and thoughtfully curated,” Pasaylo said. He added that the gatherings also gave Platinum members an opportunity to celebrate with fellow subscribers whose businesses contribute to their communities.
Tariga said hosting the Manila event allowed the restaurant to bring Filipino creativity and hospitality together with a major technology launch.
The activities also draw on Globe’s history with Apple’s smartphone business in the Philippines. In 2008, Globe partnered with Apple to introduce the iPhone 3G to the local market, the company said.
Globe is promoting its Platinum iPhone 18 plans through its official information page.
