Globe offers Whoscall scam protection to eligible subscribers

Globe Telecom is offering eligible subscribers access to Whoscall Premium Basic through Globe Scam Protect, a service designed to help identify suspicious calls and messages, check links, monitor potential data leaks and provide scam alerts.

The initiative aims to give customers additional tools to recognize digital threats as scams increasingly exploit mobile calls, text messages, websites and other online channels.

Powered by Whoscall, Globe Scam Protect uses the platform’s scam intelligence database to provide information that can help users assess potentially fraudulent communications before responding or sharing sensitive information.

Since its launch in 2023, Whoscall has recorded more than 2.2 million installs, Globe said, reflecting demand for tools intended to help users identify potential scams.

“Digital safety has become part of everyday life, and our customers deserve protection that is simple, practical, and always on,” said Eric Tanbauco, head of Globe’s Consumer Mobile Business.

“With Globe Scam Protect, we are making real-time scam defense more accessible so customers can stay a step ahead of threats and focus on what matters most, staying connected with confidence,” he added.

Through the Globe Rewards program, eligible customers can redeem Whoscall Premium Basic Individual subscriptions under different offers based on their Globe service.

Globe Platinum subscribers can receive a free 12-month subscription covering two devices, while Globe Postpaid subscribers can get a free 12-month subscription for one device. Globe Prepaid and TM subscribers can redeem a one-month subscription for one device in exchange for two Globe Rewards points.

New and renewing Globe Postpaid and Platinum customers can access the offer through the voucher pocket in the GlobeOne app and redeem their Whoscall vouchers. Once activated, the subscription provides access to the service’s protection features and educational tools intended to promote safer online practices.

Globe Scam Protect adds to the telecommunications company’s efforts to address digital fraud by making scam-detection tools available as a customer benefit. However, such tools are intended to help users assess potential threats and should complement other precautions, including verifying requests for personal information and avoiding suspicious links.
