Globe Telecom is expanding access to free digital learning resources through its partnership with Khan Academy Philippines, offering students, parents and teachers educational tools and learning support through the GlobeOne app.
The initiative, announced during National Teachers’ Month, aims to help Filipino educators supplement classroom instruction while giving students additional opportunities to study at their own pace.
Globe is also a partner of the National Teachers’ Month Coordinating Council, supporting efforts to recognize Filipino educators and help them adapt to increasingly digital learning environments.
“Teachers play an extraordinary role in helping young Filipinos learn, grow, and keep moving forward, but they don’t have to do it alone,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe chief sustainability and corporate communications officer.
“Technology can lighten their load while giving students more ways to learn beyond the classroom. By making trusted learning resources easier to access, we hope to support teachers and families as partners in every child’s learning journey,” she added.
Through Khan Academy, teachers can assign lessons and mastery goals, monitor student progress and identify learning gaps. The platform provides instructional videos, interactive exercises, quizzes and other educational resources covering science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), English and other subjects.
Teachers can also use Khanmigo, Khan Academy’s artificial intelligence-powered tool, for lesson planning, rubric development, exit tickets and differentiated instruction. These features are intended to help educators prepare classroom materials and tailor lessons to students’ needs.
Khan Academy Philippines is the first international licensee of the global nonprofit Khan Academy. It localizes educational content to align with the Department of Education’s curriculum and uses digital technologies to support Philippine education.
The organization received the first DepEd Partner-Hero award in January 2026. The announcement also credits Khan Academy Philippines with contributing to the country’s recent performance in the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), although it provides no specific figures detailing the extent of that contribution.
“Every learner should have the opportunity to learn at their own pace and get the support they need,” said Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine, president and chief executive officer of Khan Academy Philippines.
“Working with Globe allows us to bring Khan Academy closer to more Filipino families and educators, making quality learning resources easier to discover and use wherever learning happens,” she added.
Access through GlobeOne
Globe customers can access Khan Academy through the GlobeOne app and subscribe to Go59, which includes 1 gigabyte of allocated data, or Go+99 with GoLEARN, which includes 8GB of allocated data, according to the company.
To access the platform, customers can open GlobeOne, tap Help, select “Looking for Life Essentials,” and choose Khan Academy under the Education section. They can then sign up or log in and select their role as a learner, parent or teacher.
Students can choose their grade level and subjects, watch lessons and answer practice questions. Parents can use Khan Academy’s Parent Dashboard to monitor their children’s activities, assignments and progress reports, while teachers can create classes, assign lessons and review reports to identify students who may need additional support.
Educators can also explore Khanmigo’s teacher tools and Khan Academy’s introductory course for Philippine educators, which is designed to help teachers integrate the platform into classroom practice.
The partnership adds to efforts to use telecommunications and digital platforms to address access to educational resources beyond traditional classrooms. Its practical reach will depend on students’ access to compatible devices, reliable connectivity and the ability of families and schools to incorporate online learning into their routines.
Customers can find access instructions through the Khan Academy support page or visit Globe for information about its services.
