DITO Telecommunity has signed a Master Services Agreement (MSA) with PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia International (Telin), the international arm of Indonesia’s Telkom group, to expand connectivity between their markets.

The agreement was signed at the DITO Business Hub and announced on July 1. It sets up a framework for both companies and their affiliates to buy and deliver telecommunications services from each other. These include international connectivity, data services and enterprise solutions, for both internal operations and services sold to customers.

What an MSA does

An MSA works like a standing contract. Instead of negotiating every deal from scratch, the two operators agree on the general terms once, then order specific services under it as needs come up. That makes it faster to set up cross-border links for enterprise customers.

DITO said the partnership is meant to strengthen network reach, improve service delivery and expand both companies’ commercial capabilities. It also said the deal supports its goal of helping Filipino businesses connect more easily with regional markets.

Why it matters

Demand for cross-border capacity keeps growing as Filipino companies expand into Southeast Asia and as regional firms set up operations in the Philippines. For DITO, the newest of the country’s major operators, partnerships with established regional carriers are a faster way to offer international services than building every route on its own.

DITO did not disclose financial terms, specific capacity or the cable routes involved.
