Smart Communications has launched AI.Smart, a browser-based workspace that puts several leading AI models behind one login and one bill.

Powered by Avtica, AI.Smart gives Smart and TNT subscribers access to AWS Nova, ChatGPT, Claude, Google Gemini and Thinking Machines through a single interface. Users do not pick the model themselves: the platform chooses one based on the prompt, whether the task is writing, generating images, building documents and presentations or analyzing data. It works in English, Filipino or Taglish.

Pricing and payment

Access is sold as credit packs. The entry pack costs ₱49 for seven days. A ₱499 plan runs for 30 days and lets up to 10 users share a pool of credits, which Smart positions for small businesses and teams.

Subscribers sign up with their mobile number and verify by SMS. Extra credits can be paid with prepaid load, postpaid billing, credit or debit cards and select e-wallets. Smart is also offering a free seven-day trial to subscribers who sign up during the launch.

The privacy question

Smart says anything a subscriber uploads stays private to that user’s workspace and is never used to train AI models. It adds that subscriber data is not retained and is encrypted and handled in line with the Philippine Data Privacy Act.

Why it matters

Paying for several premium AI subscriptions in US dollars is out of reach for many Filipinos. Charging AI access to a load balance works the same way telcos opened up mobile data years ago: small, prepaid portions instead of a big monthly commitment.

“AI should be for everyone, not just for those who can afford premium AI services,” said Lloyd R. Manaloto, First Vice President and OIC for Smart.

The launch also shows telcos looking for revenue beyond data and calls by bundling digital services on top of the network. Smart did not say how many credits each task uses or how pricing compares with buying each AI service directly.
